Mandatory Pre-Departure Training Program
Before departing for a domestic role in the Middle East, every female candidate must complete a mandatory training program regulated by the Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment (SLBFE). This program is designed to empower you with the skills, confidence, and legal knowledge needed to succeed abroad.
The 25-Day Residential Program
This is a comprehensive, hands-on course that prepares you for life and work in a Middle Eastern household.
- Duration: 25 Days (Residential).
- Certification: Leads to an internationally recognized NVQ Level III Certificate.
- Flexibility: Candidates have the choice to complete this training through:
- Government Training Centers: Facilitated directly by the SLBFE at various provincial centers.
- Approved Private Sector Partners: Authorized private training centers that follow the official SLBFE curriculum.
What You Will Learn
The curriculum is specially designed to ensure you are a professional “Domestic Housekeeping Assistant”:
- Modern Housekeeping: Learning to use electrical appliances (vacuum cleaners, washing machines, etc.) and professional cleaning techniques.
- Middle Eastern Cuisine: Basic cooking skills and food safety tailored to Gulf household preferences.
- Language & Communication: Essential Arabic and English phrases to communicate clearly with your employers.
- Cultural Orientation: Understanding the laws, traditions, and social norms of Middle Eastern countries.
- Safety & Rights: Training on your legal rights, how to handle emergencies, and how to contact the Sri Lankan Embassy if needed.
Why This Training is Important
- Higher Wages: Certified workers (NVQ Level III) are considered “Skilled,” which often leads to better salary offers.
- Job Security: Proper training reduces the risk of contract termination due to performance issues.
- Self-Confidence: You will arrive at your new home feeling ready and capable of handling your daily tasks.
- Legal Requirement: You cannot receive your SLBFE registration or final departure clearance without this certificate.
Our Agency’s Role: We assist all our candidates in enrolling in the nearest training center, whether you prefer a government facility or a private sector partner. We monitor your progress to ensure you are ready for your flight.

- Age: Generally 21โ45 years for Middle East domestic roles.
- Height: Minimum 4 feet 6 inches.
- Documents: Valid Passport and National Identity Card (NIC).
- Health: Must be medically fit for overseas employment.
